Who writes the content on AgarwoodTown?
The guides on our blog and the facts on our product pages are written or reviewed by Wang Jianyu, who founded AgarwoodTown in 2014 and grades our agarwood himself. Each guide shows his name, the date it was first published and the date it was last updated. AgarwoodTown is a wholesale supplier, so the site is written from a seller's point of view. We say so plainly, and when we compare our own products with other sources of agarwood we explain how we judged them rather than ranking ourselves first without a reason.
Where do our facts and prices come from?
Grade, size, weight and origin details come from our own stock and grading records. Price ranges come from our own quotes and orders and are shown as ranges because every agarwood batch is priced on its resin content. Botanical, legal and trade facts, such as CITES listings, Aquilaria species names and import rules, are checked against primary sources like the CITES Secretariat, national customs authorities and peer-reviewed research. Guides that rely on outside sources list them in a References section at the end, with a link to each source.
What do we never claim?
We describe the traditional and cultural uses of agarwood, such as kōdō incense, bakhoor in the Gulf or prayer beads, but we do not present them as medical facts and nothing on this site is medical advice. We state whether material is plantation-grown or wild-harvested and name the Aquilaria species where we know it, because origin drives both price and CITES paperwork. We do not accept payment from other companies to mention or rank their products, and we carry no affiliate links, so no sponsor or affiliate shapes what we write.
How do we keep pages up to date?
Each guide is re-checked when a fact it depends on changes, for example a CITES rule, an export document or a price band. When we make a change that alters what a reader would conclude, we update the “updated” date on the page. Small fixes such as typos or a broken link do not change the date.
How do I report an error?
Email info@agarwoodtown.com with the page address and what you think is wrong, or use the contact page. We check every report against our records or the original source. If the page is wrong, we correct it, update its date and reply to tell you what changed. Our trading terms are on the terms page.
