Incense / Koh Manufacturer
Kyoto Traditional Koh Maker
Batch-consistent resin grade
❗ The Challenge
A Kyoto koh (Japanese incense) manufacturer required consistent koh-grade plantation Aquilaria sinensis chips with a tight resin-content band (8–12%) to maintain fragrance consistency across production. Wild-sourced chips from previous suppliers varied too much (±4.2%), forcing their master blender to rebalance every batch.
✓ Our Solution
AgarwoodTown developed a dedicated koh-grade supply program: chips are pre-selected from a single plantation block, batch-tested by GC-MS for resin content, and shipped with a full grading certificate and origin traceability report. An annual supply agreement covers 50 kg/quarter with locked pricing and priority production scheduling.

⚠ What was hard
Our standard moisture content (12–14%) was 1–2% above what their master blender preferred for traditional koh. We added a final desiccation step exclusively for their orders. Cost us a week per batch initially; now built into the schedule and no longer a delay.
“Resin variance dropped from ±4.2% to ±0.8% once we switched — our master blender no longer rebalances every batch. A GC-MS certificate comes with every 50 kg shipment; the agreement is into its 4th consecutive renewal.”
